This tournament honors Charlie Green, who served as UM Golf Course manager for 52 years. He began his stewardship at the same time the University Women's Golf Club was formed in 1960, and was a staunch advocate of our club until his retirement in 2012. He died in 2020. The first ever Charlie Green Scramble took place in 2001.

This annual event provides multiple options for play -- Front 9 standard stroke play and Back 9 scramble format; or join at the turn to play just the Back 9 Scramble format.
Teams are determined by number of participating players and their GHIN handicaps.
Whether you play in the tournament or not, please come join us after for awards and lunch at The Petrovich Family Grill (individuals order and pay for their own lunch).
This event honors Esther McCleery, who served as the first University Women’s Golf Club secretary when it was established in 1960. She also served as the 1964 UWGC President. She graduated from University of Michigan’s School of Nursing in 1934, and was executive secretary of the UM Nurses Alumnae Association. She died in 1987 at the age of 75. This tournament is especially meaningful as we celebrate and and honor the founding members of the University Women's Golf Club.

The Esther McCleery Match Play Tournament emphasizes fun play for members of all skill levels. It is handicapped and determined by net scores.

Kip Taylor was a former UM Golf Course manager who was instrumental in the establishment and support of our University Women’s Golf Club. As a member of the University of Michigan football team, he scored the very first touchdown at Michigan Stadium in 1927. This tournament honors him.

The Kip Taylor Tournament is similar to a Stableford format. Rather than counting your total strokes taken during the round, points are earned for the number of strokes played on each hole.
